April is World Book Month at SHS

This year, Read Across America is changing to a month-long reading event in the month of April. The goal is to encourage students to enjoy reading and participate in a global activity by bringing in a world/country element. There will be exciting activities throughout the month, including:

Read Around the World (month-long):
Each book/page will earn “miles” and we’ll be tracking how far around the world we can read in the month using book logs. Find the book log here »

Guest Readers in Library Class (month-long)

World Book Day (April 23):
Students and staff can come to school dressed as any book character – fiction or non-fiction.

Celebration (early May):
For all classes announcing how far each class and the school has read around the world.
