All Saints Day

For our All Saints Day Mass, each third grade student researches a saint of his/her choosing and prepares a brief presentation that is delivered during Fr. Sean’s homily. Students have the option of dressing like their saint or using a special prop that is related to the saint’s life. We are proud to present our 3rd grade saints for All Saints Day 2017…

Blessed Virgin Mary

“Blessed Virgin Mary is the patron saint of human acts of kindness. I like my saint because she is the mother of Jesus.”

Saint Anthony

“Saint Anthony is the patron saint of lost objects and the poor. I like my saint because I pray to him and he always helps me find the things I lost.”

Saint Brigid

“Saint Brigid is the patron saint of Ireland. I like my saint because she fed and helped the poor. She also gave her father’s belongings to people who asked.”

Saint Catherine of Siena

“Saint Catherine of Siena is the patron saint of Italy and fire prevention. I like my saint because she was Italian and she had visions from God.”

Saint Cecilia

“Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians. I like my saint because I like music.”

Saint Christopher

“Saint Christopher is the patron saint of transportation and traveling. I like my saint because he was big, strong, and tall.”

Saint Clare

“Saint Clare is the patron saint of television, eye disorders, and laundry workers. I like my saint because she was brave and dedicated her life to God and prayer.”

Saint Dymphna

“Saint Dymphna is the patron saint of mental and emotional illness and people who are anxious or worried. I like my saint because she was brave and stood up to her evil father. She had strong faith.”

Saint Francis of Assisi

“Saint Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals, merchants, and ecology. I like my saint because he loved animals and nature. He also gave up his life of wealth to live a life of poverty.”

Saint Gabriel the Archangel

“Saint Gabriel the Archangel is the patron saint of communication. Gabriel’s name means ‘God is strong, God is powerful’. He is a kind angel. He can come to us in our dreams and we can receive angelic messages.”

Saint Joan of Arc

“Saint Joan of Arc is the patron saint of France, soldiers, military, and the Women’s Army Corps. I like my saint because she was a very brave soldier and she prayed a lot.”

Saint John the Baptist

“Saint John the Baptist is the patron saint of Jordan, Puerto Rico, and French Canada. I like my saint because he baptized Jesus.”

Saint Joseph

“Saint Joseph is the patron saint of the universal Church, unborn children, fathers, and immigrants. I like my saint because he protected Mary and Jesus from King Herod and he was a good husband.”

Saint Mary Magdalene

“Saint Mary Magdalene is the patron saint of penitence. I like my saint because she was the first person to see Jesus after he rose from the dead.”

Saint Michael the Archangel

“Saint Michael the Archangel is the patron saint of soldiers, police, and doctors. I like my saint because he is brave and has the same name as me.”

Saint Nicholas

“Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of children and fishermen. I like my saint because he was kind and we have the same name.”

Saint Patrick

“Saint Patrick is the patron saint of the Republic of Ireland and Boston. I like my saint because he used a three-leaf clover to teach people about the Trinity.”

Saint Sebastian

“Saint Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes and archers. I like my saint because he watches over athletes and I like sports. He helps to protect me.”

Saint Teresa of Calcutta

“Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa) is the patron saint of doubters. I like my saint because she was always caring and she loved one another. She risked her life to save the dying and help the poor.”

Saint William

“Saint William is the patron saint of adopted children. I like my saint because he saved lots of children without families.”
